Located in the historic downtown Wilson, this Science museum remains open from Tuesday to Saturday. This Museum is located in a 1928 historical building. This museum has amazing live science demonstrations. That children will especially find very interesting.
Also, this museum showcases local history and exotic animals.
There are both permanent and changeable exhibit areas at this museum. Each exhibit is intended to focus on a particular area of history, science, or technology. Each floor of the museum has a different theme.
For instance, the museum showcases reptile exhibits on the second floor. This museum also has a body-ology exhibit. Moreover, this science museum also has some exercise equipment too. And you can actually do some exercise with this equipment if you so desire.
The museum has made a lot of efforts to make this place enjoyable for kids. They’ve added a simulation situation where children have to race against animals and climb the rock. They can also play the harp without strings, see rabbits, and chinchillas, and learn many more things.
This science museum also has an observation hive. You can see the action of the bees in this observation hive. Watch the worker bees who hover around the hive, bringing in pollen and nectar. If you pay close attention, you could even spot the queen.

Fleming Stadium is primarily used for baseball. This stadium hosts a lot of special events, especially on summer baseball days. You can also get decently priced snacks in this museum. The museum is very well maintained and clean. Fleming stadium’s seats are also covered by a huge roof that helps to block the sun and rain. If you are looking for a lazy summer evening of watching some really well played baseball, Fleming stadium is the best place to be.
Located within Fleming Stadium is none other than a baseball museum. The museum itself encompasses 3300 square feet and maintains displays and exhibits highlighting the history of baseball in North Carolina. All sorts of North Carolina memorabilia abounds. From professional baseball players native to North Carolina to those who have made it to the Hall of Fame to those who have actually played within Fleming Stadium! You don’t want to miss this if your a fan of America’s pastime.
Carolina Beach is the closest beach to Wilson, North Carolina. It is only 0.3 miles from Downtown Wilson. There are fishing piers in Carolina Beach State Park, as well as the Flytrap Trail. The Boardwalk in Carolina Beach has stores, eateries, and rides.
In addition to being close to home, Carolina Beach offers many amenities. There are restaurants, shops, and activities at the Carolina Beach Pavilion. This venue hosts concerts, festivals, and special events throughout the year. There are also several golf courses nearby.
The beach is located at the end of Ocean Boulevard, which runs along the Atlantic Coastline. The beach is divided into three sections by two jetties. The first section is called the “North Jetty” and it is where most people enter the beach. The second section is called the ‘South Jetty” and this is where the ocean waves crash against the sand. The third section is called the ”West Jetty” and here the surfers ride the waves.
The Boardwalk is a great place for families with young children. There are many places to ride on the boardwalk including: the Sky Ride, the Flying Carpet, the Tilt-A-Whirl, and the Swings. The Sky Ride is an enclosed gondola that takes you up to the top of the boardwalk. You can see all of the shops below you and the ocean. The Flying Carpet is a large wooden roller coaster that goes around the entire boardwalk. The Tilt-A- Whirl is a small carousel type ride. The Swings are swings that go back and forth across the boardwalk. The boardwalk also has a lot of restaurants, ice cream stands, and other things to do.

After getting accepted to ECU, I started looking for things to do in and around Greenville, NC. However, my searches kept taking me to places in South Carolina! There must be things to do around ECU, so I started asking other students. They kept telling me to graduate and move away! This inspired me to begin exploring eastern North Carolina and build this website as a showcase of the places to go, sights to see, and things to do all over eastern NC. I have fallen in love with this region and started taking up roots here. After graduating, I didn't move away - I bought a house here and continue to explore eastern North Carolina.
