I don’t know about you, but Christmas is my favorite time of the year! There is always so much to do with so little time to do it. However, lucky enough for both of us, I have come up with a short list of things to do! This is Christmas things to do in Goldsboro NC.

With the assistance of a few of its friends, Mt. Olive Pickle Factory. hosted its New Year's Eve Pickle Drop on Saturday, December 31, 2022.
The University of Mount Olive's Kornegay Arena was host to the 22nd annual event. The Mount Olive Volunteer Fire Department always provides support with Tower 23. This is its ladder truck. The glowing New Year's Eve Pickle tumbles from the tower into a huge pickle jar. Sounds interesting, right?

Each year, the event maintains its customary early start time. Activities begin at 5 o'clock, and the pickle arrives precisely at 7 o'clock. Then comes a display of fireworks. Since fashion, as we know it today, was first imagined, ugly sweaters have existed. They weren't always made on purpose. Perhaps a knitter made a mistake or tried a novel design that wasn't as cool as they had hoped. It didn't take long before grandmothers were knitting their grandkid's ugly Christmas sweaters. Some with baubles and others with the phrase "I love Grandma" (possibly while cracking up). They were competent in their work. And we noticed it all!
However, ugly sweaters on the mass market made their official debut in the 1980s. The character Bill Huxtable, from the Bill Cosby show, caused everyone in fashion to gasp. This happened when he entered the scene wearing a garish, ugly, yet endearing sweater. Oh, and he was fully aware it was completely outrageous. Let's move on to another story about these sweaters.
The first-ever official tacky holiday sweater party was the brainchild of two men. The Vancouver men wanted to support their friend to raise funds for cancer treatment. The event was a success. It also paved the way for others of its kind to appear throughout the northern hemisphere. Ugly sweater parties that started off as small gatherings have grown! This occasionally served a charitable purpose.
The most awaited attractions of the year these days are ugly sweater parties. As well as the competitions that follow. Participants compete to wear the most repulsive outerwear. Instead of becoming tacky accidentally, the sweaters are now intentionally shameless. Only if it had its own holiday could this party be more spectacular.

After getting accepted to ECU, I started looking for things to do in and around Greenville, NC. However, my searches kept taking me to places in South Carolina! There must be things to do around ECU, so I started asking other students. They kept telling me to graduate and move away! This inspired me to begin exploring eastern North Carolina and build this website as a showcase of the places to go, sights to see, and things to do all over eastern NC. I have fallen in love with this region and started taking up roots here. After graduating, I didn't move away - I bought a house here and continue to explore eastern North Carolina.
