Dickinson Avenue Public House Greenville NC

History

For the readers that aren’t aware of the deep history of Dickinson Avenue, well that’s okay, I’m here to help with that.

Dickinson Avenue falls as part of the National Historic District registry. Buildings here can date back to 1902. Some of the notable historical buildings are:

  • Brown Building – built in 1916
  • Hines Building – built in 1916
  • Roxy Theater – built in 1948
  • Imperial Tobacco Company Factory – built in 1964

As you can see, Dickinson Avenue is full of history, but so is Dickinson Avenue Public house.

It was established in 2015 by Jacob and Tandi Wilson as well as their close dear friends Kristi Southern and Brad Hufford.

Each of the 4 owners has been part of the culinary world for more than a decade. Each brings in a uniquely vital component that makes DAP House the restaurant of choice in Greenville NC today.

Events

DAP House plays host to many beverage-tasting events. Some great ones, such as the Código 1530 Tequila tasting and the September Wine Tasting. But not to worry, once a month they host a Wine & Liquor Tasting event, so be sure to check out their socials for dates and times!

After getting accepted to ECU, I started looking for things to do in and around Greenville, NC. However, my searches kept taking me to places in South Carolina! There must be things to do around ECU, so I started asking other students. They kept telling me to graduate and move away! This inspired me to begin exploring eastern North Carolina and build this website as a showcase of the places to go, sights to see, and things to do all over eastern NC. I have fallen in love with this region and started taking up roots here. After graduating, I didn't move away - I bought a house here and continue to explore eastern North Carolina.
