Airborne & Special Operations Museum Foundation

This museum was established in August 2000. This museum records and showcases the heritage & culture of the US Army Airborne and SOF. The ‘SOF’ is the acronym of the ‘Special Operation Forces of the USA. Entry is free to this museum.

This museum tells the story of the American Special Forces from WW2 to the present day. For teenagers who are interested in military history, this museum is an ideal place for them. One reviewer, Chris, writes about this museum,

The museum also has a simulator. In the simulator, they show some of the operations the US Special Forces have done. Teenagers will especially enjoy the simulator.

The museum has some incredible exhibits and tons of information. The museum is well organized and easy to navigate. There is an amazing collection of Airborne and SOF-related memorabilia.

The museum also gives the visitors a historical perspective of the paratroopers. Visitors can also buy T-shirts, apparel, gifts, etc from the Museum’s shop. Overall, an awesome place to visit and learn about the history of the Airbourne and SOF Units.

Cumberland County Public Library

This library is a vibrant, and constantly expanding public library. The goal of this library is to serve a community that is informed and forward-thinking. The best part is that all their resources and services are free. The library especially has lots of resources for teens.

Teens can have access to more than 4000 videos of Khan Academy here. Khan academy has books on subjects like Maths, Finance, etc that will help the teens in their studies.

Teens can borrow books for up to 3 weeks. They just have to search the library’s catalog to find their desired books. The library also has great resources for homeschooling.

The great thing about this library is its service to the public. People who can’t come in person for doing a library card can obtain an e-Card. Residents have to submit the following things to obtain an e-Card:

  • First and last names.
  • Date of birth.
  • Current Cumberland County address.
  • Email address.

With an e-card, a person can have access to the library’s: :

  • eBooks.
  • eAudiobooks.
  • Digital magazines.
  • Online databases.

Cape Fear River Adventures

This attraction is definitely one of the best destinations for Fayetteville Teens. 45 minutes outside of Fayetteville, visitors can kayak or tube here on the Cape Fear river. The duration of tubing timing can be 1.5 hours to 5 hours, depending on the water level. The distance covered in this tubing is 2 miles.

This cape fear river is a great place for kayaking. The staff usually gives a safety briefing about kayaking to the visitors. Teenagers who know swimming can practice their swimming skills in the river. They can also do fishing here.
