Mpourium - Greenville, NC

Mpourium - Greenville, NC

The first self-serve taproom in Greenville, Mpourium, offers visitors 52 self-pour taps. They contain a variety of beer, wine, and champagne selections.

How Mpourium Flows as Smooth as Their Beer

Customers enter the store and have their ID and debit or credit card checked. They are then given a customized wristband that can be scanned at whichever tap they choose to pour from. Once scanned, beer enthusiasts may view the total number of ounces they have poured.

Why is Mpourium Unique?

Mpourium is unique because it is a contemporary taproom. Being self-serving allows customers to purchase beer by the ounce instead of a whole pint. Here you have the opportunity to sample several alcoholic beverages. This is to determine which are the ones your taste buds desire. Not having to commit to a whole pint is a game changer.

Menu

Given that draft options are continually changing, customers can always try something new.

Mpourium's wheat beers and India Pale Ale are amongst the most highly recommended. Some of the other fantastic options are:

  1. Chelsie's Dreamhouse
  2. Asking For A Friend
  3. Hop Drop ‘N Roll

Every tap is priced differently, some start from 40 cents per ounce. Speciality brews are a little higher priced. These include their Southern Pines White Russian, and their Funky Buddha Margarita Gose.

Where Did the Idea for Mpourium Come From?

Kristin and Andrew were in Charlotte, North Carolina visiting. That’s when they came across a self serve taproom. They knew then that a self serve taproom would make a "wonderful addition" to Greenville. Husband and wife, owners of Mpourium then came up with the name.

Support and Uplifting the Community

The Moss family moved to Greenville in 2002. Since then, they have made an effort to support businesses within the neighborhood.

Mpourium wants to keep collaborating with other establishments on Dickinson Avenue.

Mpourium brewery works hard to aid other breweries in the neighborhood. The Apricot Wheat Style from Uptown Brewing Company is currently on tap. Along with beer from Pitt Street Brewing Company.

The Atmosphere of Mpourium

Mpourium strives to be a place of relaxation. Outside food is welcomed and so are children. Their outdoor seating area has picnic styled tables and is also dog friendly. So no more worries about getting home to torn cushions. It is not just a great weekend activity; it is also a great place to de-stress after a long days of work. Mpourium aims to be a top notch entertainment location that people can attend all year long.

After getting accepted to ECU, I started looking for things to do in and around Greenville, NC. However, my searches kept taking me to places in South Carolina! There must be things to do around ECU, so I started asking other students. They kept telling me to graduate and move away! This inspired me to begin exploring eastern North Carolina and build this website as a showcase of the places to go, sights to see, and things to do all over eastern NC. I have fallen in love with this region and started taking up roots here. After graduating, I didn't move away - I bought a house here and continue to explore eastern North Carolina.
