A short 16.6 miles away from the beautiful Elizabeth City is Hertford. A small town that plays host to the Indian Summer Festival!
In 2022, the Indian Summer Festival celebrated its 36th annual hosting. Church Street in Hertford was completely blocked off for it. The festival was kick-started by a street dance. And the music is provided by the talented group called Spare Change. It has seen:

Relive the drive-in movie experience at Mariners' Wharf Park in Elizabeth City! No vehicle is needed for this experience. Eight consecutive Tuesdays in June and July will feature classic American films. And the best part is it's on a huge screen! This became the Mariners' Wharf Film Festival.
Visitors and members of the community can watch any film for free. Authentic movie theatre popcorn is normally sponsored by the regionally operated RCE Theaters. So no need to pack heavy!

The NC Potato Festival is a family-friendly event. It highlights one of Northeast North Carolina's most important agricultural products: potatoes. Elizabeth City State University Jazz Festival. The festival dedicated to jazz. The music of the soul.
At the yearly Jazz Festival, some of the finest avant-garde jazz is produced. The ECSU String Ensemble and the ECSU Jazz Band performed at the event in 2019. Charlton Singleton performed at Elizabeth City State University's Jazz Festival in 2022. He is also a Grammy-winning jazz trumpeter!
The U.S. Air Force Rhythm in Blue jazz band and the ECSU Jazz Festival Honor Band also performed at the festival. Douglas Jackson is a professor of music at ECSU and a trumpet musician. The Camden Heritage Festival offers the chance for the neighborhood to unite. As well as recognize Camden County. Live history performances offer a brief glimpse into the past. You get to experience a piece of history with the kids! They have fun family games and stalls with lots of goodies. The 2022 festival had a fantastic car show, featuring some amazing classics! After getting accepted to ECU, I started looking for things to do in and around Greenville, NC. However, my searches kept taking me to places in South Carolina! There must be things to do around ECU, so I started asking other students. They kept telling me to graduate and move away! This inspired me to begin exploring eastern North Carolina and build this website as a showcase of the places to go, sights to see, and things to do all over eastern NC. I have fallen in love with this region and started taking up roots here. After graduating, I didn't move away - I bought a house here and continue to explore eastern North Carolina.
