The Kinston Summerfest is a series of concerts held in three events. It was previously known as Sand in the Streets. This year, 2022, the event dates were June 11, July 9 and August 13th. Thirst Trap Thursdays are presented by Dennis Biancuzzo and Paul Scott Promotions. It is held at the Limelight of Jacksonville NC. It provides an amazing night filled with epic entertainment. The event is organized by Onslow County LGBTQ+ Community Center.

The Kinston Historic Farm Days event is held by I&I Antique Tractor & Gas Engine Club. The club is known as I&I because it began in 1976 near Alvin, Illinois and next to the Indiana/Illinois state line. They moved around a bit before settling in Penfield, Illinois.

The Kinston Music Park is a celebration of the African American Musical Heritage. The music trail is held at Spring Hill and South Queen streets. These were once the hub of African American music in the Sugar Hill district. Various successful musicians like Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington have played the trail. The African American Music Trail brings together lovers of good music and entertainment.
The event is organized by the Community Council for the Arts and takes place from dawn to dusk.
The BBQ Neuse Fest is a festival that takes place every year in May. In the Lenoir County area of Kinston, North Carolina. Where locals and visitors can come and celebrate good food, art, music, wine, and beer. With musical guests and a nice park for family and friends to come together and enjoy themselves. By either dancing, enjoying food or drinks, or some of the rides they have there. This festival is also used as an opportunity for other businesses to expand. This event was held on October 22 at Bear Grass Charter School Campus. This was the 9th year of the event and it included one of the best poultry shows the region has seen. Lots of chicken mull was served at the Chicken Mull Festival. Chicken mull is a dish of parboiled chicken, crackers, broth and eggs. It is topped with as much red and black pepper as you would like. The meal is served with a sleeve of crackers.
The Clayton Harvest Festival event takes place in four days and attracts 31,000 attendees. You will enjoy carnival rides and a car show and numerous community-based vendors. The festival includes different events, with lots of music and family-friendly fun.
