Summer Festivals in Wilmington NC

Summer Festivals in Wilmington NC

Wilmington has the distinct pleasure of not only being a wonderful place to live, but it sits right on the Atlantic Ocean. That means people want to flock to the scene all year long. However, there's something about summer that makes it an even more attractive destination.

Having such close proximity to beaches is always going to be a tourist magnet. But what Wilmington might have over other beach towns are the festivals. There are plenty of outdoor concerts happening all summer. Several of which are on the beach or within walking distance of the water. What else can you expect from festivals in Wilmington? Food and music because nothing goes better with the open air than wafting festival food and wind that carries tunes.

Join us as we share a list of several reasons why you'd want to come to Wilmington for more than just the sand.

It's time to get the groovy feelings going smack dab in the middle of the summer. There will be free-flowing clothing, hip sounds, a choice of snacks, and beverages of every sort. Oh, let's not forget to mention that Hippie Fest is family and dog-friendly! Bring everyone you love, fur and all, to soak up the sunshine and sodas while swaying to The Number Nines or Free Drinks Band.

In between sets, there are 26 local vendors with tables and merchandise to take home. Perhaps you'll find a bra to burn or a flower headband to match the latest swimsuit. You won't want to miss the chill vibes.

Mimosa Fest

Where: Reggie's 42nd Street Tavern

Sometimes you want to do something a little more grown. This annual event is 21+ only, so this is an adult festival that is named after everyone's favorite brunch beverage. Perhaps it's tough to imagine a whole event dedicated to mimosas, but now that you know it exists, it's almost hard to imagine there not being one.

Anyway, as you probably could have guessed, there will be a course served at that time after breakfast but before lunch. Doors open at noon or 11 am if you're VIP.

Each ticket comes with a voucher to redeem a $5 food or drink item. There will be a continuous flow of live music and the option to invent a mimosa to be brought to life. Don't be afraid to tell the bartender to keep them coming!

After getting accepted to ECU, I started looking for things to do in and around Greenville, NC. However, my searches kept taking me to places in South Carolina! There must be things to do around ECU, so I started asking other students. They kept telling me to graduate and move away! This inspired me to begin exploring eastern North Carolina and build this website as a showcase of the places to go, sights to see, and things to do all over eastern NC. I have fallen in love with this region and started taking up roots here. After graduating, I didn't move away - I bought a house here and continue to explore eastern North Carolina.
