The Turnage Theatre is a historic icon in Washington NC from 1913. Now restored, the theatre hosts several events. Such as plays, concerts, films, and art shows. There are also a variety of arts education programs for both children and adults. Take a class or come for the show. Either way, you will have a cultured experience in an old building. Extreme Action Park is an indoor entertainment center located in Chocowinity, NC. Just a few minutes from Washington NC. This place offers extreme fun for all ages! Have your pick from go-karts, roller skating, arcade games, and an inflatable playground.
Any locals will tell you that the best thing to do at Extreme Action Park is the karts. Take a spin on the track and race your friends on this thrilling ride. When done, grab something to eat from the snack bar and grill before hitting the arcade. A visit here is fun for anyone, especially teenagers.

Between Little Washington and Bath sits Goose Creek State Park. Here you can view the natural areas of the Tar-Pamlico Sound. The trails wind around mashy areas along the sound and into cypress swamps. Every trail is easy for any hiker because of the flat area. One of the cool things in this park is the boardwalks along the trails. You will see a lot of wildlife natural in the area. Because this is a swampy area, it is always recommended to take bug spray when you go out. If you want to stay longer, the campsites are very nice as well.

Go sailing on the Pamlico River for a good cause! The Little Washington Sailing School is a non-profit organization. They offer sailing lessons and programs for youth and adults in Washington NC. Their focus is to teach children and teenagers the fundamentals of sailing. There are a variety of courses for both beginners and advanced sailors. Each experienced instructor is certified. And make safety and fun a priority in their lessons. The school also offers adult sailing lessons and group charters. Perfect for corporate events, parties, and other occasions. After getting accepted to ECU, I started looking for things to do in and around Greenville, NC. However, my searches kept taking me to places in South Carolina! There must be things to do around ECU, so I started asking other students. They kept telling me to graduate and move away! This inspired me to begin exploring eastern North Carolina and build this website as a showcase of the places to go, sights to see, and things to do all over eastern NC. I have fallen in love with this region and started taking up roots here. After graduating, I didn't move away - I bought a house here and continue to explore eastern North Carolina.
