The Huske Hardware Restaurant and Brewery has been a landmark for more than 20 years. The structure itself has a 115-year history! The building is included in the National Register of Historic Places. Over time, the basic brick structure from the Victorian era was expanded. This made room for the expanding company. So I know you must be wondering how an Irish pub ended up in Fayetteville, NC.
As an exchange student, Patrick Gibney relocated from Dublin, Ireland to Fayetteville, NC. This took place in 1987. One of the first things he saw was a sign on the outside wall of a nearby bar named "Nashville Station." That sign said, "Free Shag Lessons." When Patrick went to partake in the fun, he was disappointed to see that there was no "shagging" at all. Some sort of dance club was there.
He was sorely disappointed but resolved to come back and establish an Irish pub there in the future. In February 2007, twenty years later, he finally did.
