Things To Do In Fayetteville NC For St. Patty's Day

Are you ready for St. Patty’s Day? No? Well, get your clothes and paint ready to paint the town green because I got you covered for the rest! In this article, I’m going to tell you where you need to be for St. Patty’s Day! The following article is on things to do in Fayetteville NC for St. Patty’s Day.

Bright Light Brewing

Bright Light Brewing started off in a space that was formerly a fitness center in November 2016. Since then, they have relocated to a better, bigger building. Private gatherings, events for mug club members, and bigger events are held there. What started off as a 3-barrel system is currently a 10-barrel system! This nano-brewery is the perfect place to be for a relaxing evening. A little birdie also told me that for St. Patty’s Day, they get:

  • Face painters
  • Green beer
  • Live music and other entertainment

If all of that excites you, then head on over to 444 W Russell St, Fayetteville, NC.

Huske Hardware Restaurant & Brewery

The Huske Hardware Restaurant and Brewery has been a landmark for more than 20 years. The structure itself has a 115-year history! The building is included in the National Register of Historic Places. Over time, the basic brick structure from the Victorian era was expanded. This made room for the expanding company. It increased in height by one more story and westward by three storefronts.

The structure had a number of businesses between 1970 and 1996. However, Dr. William Baggett rebuilt the east side in 1996. This was to produce the present-day restaurant and brewery.

For March 17th, they host a Huske After Hours. This event is a 21+ event and features:

  • The top bartenders
  • The best DJs in the area

It is definitely a place you want to be for St. Patty’s Day! Head on over to 405 Hay St, Fayetteville, NC.

Mac’s Speed Shop

Wynn Davis and Hall Johnston, the company's founders, had the idea for Mac's Speed Shop. The two guys enjoyed bikes, beer, and BBQ but had no experience managing a restaurant. So, on May 5, 2005, in Charlotte, NC, they bought the property of a dilapidated auto repair shop. They invited some friends over, hired staff members, and opened the doors to a grand adventure.

Then there are BBQ restaurants and Mac's Speed Shop. The combination of BBQ, beer, and bikes has produced a truly exceptional experience. You can take the whole family along. They host events, and live music, and offer a terrace that is pet-friendly. You'll feel at home whether you're driving a minivan or a Harley.

The Mac's kitchen makes all of its dressings and BBQ sauces from scratch every day. Comfort foods like:

  • Mac 'n' cheese
  • Brisket chili

are among the favorites. They always offer daily drink specials, such as local craft beer and wine.

They have a wide selection of alcoholic beverages with a focus on:

  • Cocktails
  • Bourbon
  • Scotch whiskey

So you may choose what to drink. 100 bottles and cans and over 50 draft beers are available, and the selection is changed daily.

For 2023 Mac’s Speed Shop debuted Nowcat. This is for their St. Patty’s Day celebration. Usually, for St. Patty’s Day, Mac’s Speed Shop has its famous BBQ with live music. Everything is themed to help you get into the spirit! Who knows what surprises they have for the years to come! Catch them on March 17th at 482 N McPherson Church Rd, Fayetteville, NC.

Hay Music Festival

Are you ready for the Hay Music Festival? For 2023, Fayetteville had its 6th Annual St. Patrick's Day at Hay Music Festival! The festival usually goes on till around 2 am. That’s right, 2 am! That means you have plenty of time to fully enjoy the festival.

Everything is St. Patty’s Day themed! Throughout the night, they serve green beer, Jameson, and other alcoholic beverages. They also have tons of food and drink specials throughout the night.

This festival usually takes place on the 17th and 18th of March. That means two days of live, loud music, and fun! You can catch them at 405 Hay St, Fayetteville, NC. This event is hosted by Downtown Fayetteville. So check out their Facebook page for event details.

Paddy’s Irish Public House

So I know you must be wondering how an Irish pub ended up in Fayetteville, NC.

As an exchange student, Patrick Gibney relocated from Dublin, Ireland to Fayetteville, NC. This took place in 1987. One of the first things he saw was a sign on the outside wall of a nearby bar named "Nashville Station." That sign said, "Free Shag Lessons." When Patrick went to partake in the fun, he was disappointed to see that there was no "shagging" at all. Some sort of dance club was there.

He was sorely disappointed but resolved to come back and establish an Irish pub there in the future. In February 2007, twenty years later, he finally did.

Paddy's had a thorough renovation and expansion in 2016 to incorporate The Church. This is a cutting-edge lounge and event space.

Paddy's defies conventional thinking with a sense of humor and a modern Irish flair. All while preserving the time-honored heritage of:

  • Hospitality
  • A feeling of history
  • Community

Discover the specialty-designed drinks made by their talented staff of mixologists. And don’t forget to take advantage of the selection of beers and spirits. I mean what better way to spend St. Patty’s Day than at an Irish pub, right? Head on over to 2606 Raeford Rd Suite B, Fayetteville, NC on March 17th!

After getting accepted to ECU, I started looking for things to do in and around Greenville, NC. However, my searches kept taking me to places in South Carolina! There must be things to do around ECU, so I started asking other students. They kept telling me to graduate and move away! This inspired me to begin exploring eastern North Carolina and build this website as a showcase of the places to go, sights to see, and things to do all over eastern NC. I have fallen in love with this region and started taking up roots here. After graduating, I didn't move away - I bought a house here and continue to explore eastern North Carolina.
