Things to Do in Kinston NC for St. Patty's Day

The festival of St. Patrick's Day is celebrated with parades and shamrocks. Let me also not forget, everything Irish! Thousands of Irish Americans celebrate St. Patrick's Day with family and friends. They have been known to do so by sharing a "traditional" supper of corn beef and cabbage. Leprechauns and the color green are also spread widely along the streets of the U.S. Are you not a fan of cabbage? Some people even enjoy shepherd's pie to celebrate. For great diversity, try celebrating with traditional cuisine prepared in unique ways! In a Reuben, many Americans favor corned beef. But what makes up a Reuben? Traditionally, a Rueuben is made up of:

  • Rye bread and corned beef
  • Sauerkraut (fermented cut-up cabbage)
  • Swiss cheese
  • Russian or Thousand Island dressing

After getting accepted to ECU, I started looking for things to do in and around Greenville, NC. However, my searches kept taking me to places in South Carolina! There must be things to do around ECU, so I started asking other students. They kept telling me to graduate and move away! This inspired me to begin exploring eastern North Carolina and build this website as a showcase of the places to go, sights to see, and things to do all over eastern NC. I have fallen in love with this region and started taking up roots here. After graduating, I didn't move away - I bought a house here and continue to explore eastern North Carolina.
