Hardison’s Carolina BBQ has been around since 1933. The fourth generation currently runs the place. Even though the Hardisons have been serving delicious barbeques for decades. The place wasn’t always available in the Jamesville location. Hardisonn’s opened its restaurant in the Jamesville location in late 2016. The owners claim the support has been constant since they opened the place.
Hardison’s Carolina BBQ offers a scrumptious menu based around barbequed pork. The place specializes in pulled pork sandwiches, cheeseburgers, and hot dogs. Besides these, the Hardison’s offer a special known as the Hardison’s special. All the dishes are well-priced, which is one more reason that locals favor the place. Takeaways are available at the Hardison’s BBQ place. But, there is no delivery option available now.

The Port O’ Plymouth Museum sits at the Atlantic Coastline Railroad Station. And it lies on the waterfront in Downtown Plymouth, North Carolina. It is a Civil War museum focused on the "Battle of Plymouth" in 1864. The Battle of Plymouth is the second-largest Civil War combat. It comprised 20,000 soldiers and sailors. The South was losing, and this battle represented the last chance for the Confederacy to win the war. The CSS Albemarle, the Civil War's most effective ironclad, made its debut in Plymouth. And it went on to destroy the Union Navy twice.
The Pettigrew State Park is a 41 minutes drive away from Hardison’s Barbeque place. Yet, the State park offers activities one can’t miss. It is a stunning area of North Carolina. The Pettigrew State Park also houses the spectacular 16,000-acre Lake Phelps. Bass fishing is the most well-known type of fishing at Pettigrew. Yellow perch, pumpkins seed, and largemouth bass are all abundant in the lake. Pettigrew State Park also has a tonne of trails. These pathways travel past some of the most impressive historic trees in the area. You can rent a kayak and explore the lake and Pettigrew State Park if you want to get out on the water. Both hikers and cyclists are welcome in the park.

After getting accepted to ECU, I started looking for things to do in and around Greenville, NC. However, my searches kept taking me to places in South Carolina! There must be things to do around ECU, so I started asking other students. They kept telling me to graduate and move away! This inspired me to begin exploring eastern North Carolina and build this website as a showcase of the places to go, sights to see, and things to do all over eastern NC. I have fallen in love with this region and started taking up roots here. After graduating, I didn't move away - I bought a house here and continue to explore eastern North Carolina.
